Articles, Book chapters, and E-Books

We will deliver journal articles, chapters from books, and ebooks via email.

Print books

  • SAU Library books:  print books owned by the SAU Library can be mailed to your home address.

  • Books borrowed from other libraries: Print books may be ordered through Interlibrary Loan if you are able to pick-up and return the material at the SAU main campus.  Don't live near campus?  Ebooks and book chapters, which can be delivered quickly via email, are great alternatives.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that obtains articles, books and other material from libraries throughout Michigan and the U.S, and even from other countries.  Looking for an article or book that we don't have?  No problem!  Place an ILL request for the item and we will obtain it from another library for you, free of charge.

Note: Physical items requested through Interlibrary Loan are ineligible for mailing.

SAU students, staff and faculty may place requests for material through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) using the library's databases or the ILL Request Form.

MeLCat

MeLCat Michigan statewide resource sharing.  Borrow books from public and academic libraries throughout the state of Michigan.  Pick up and return items to the SAU White Library, or use your local public library card to have items delivered to your public library.

Interlibrary Loan delivery times:

  • Articles, book chapters, and ebook typically take 1-3 business days to arrive and are delivered via email.
  • Print books typically take about 1-2 weeks to arrive.

Renewing Materials

Extend due dates for library material online via Renew My Books.

Returning Materials

Library items may be returned to the book drop located outside the library's entrance, or the library will be happy to send a prepaid return shipping label to anyone wanting to return books by mail.
