Writing Center: 

The Writing Center will continue to be available to students.

Beginning Friday, March 13, all in-person appointments are suspended in keeping with SAU’s coronavirus mitigation efforts. Students may still receive assistance with their essays in one of two ways. You may email your essay to, and a tutor will respond within one business day with comments to guide your revision. You may also make an appointment, and a tutor will set up a Zoom consultation to discuss your essay with you through video chat.

Document Delivery & Circulation

We will deliver journal articles, chapters from books, and ebooks via email.  Books from the SAU library will be delivered to you at no charge. Send your request for material to the library:

MeLCat and Interlibrary Loan

MeLCat requesting has been suspended throughout the state of Michigan.

SAU students, staff and faculty may continue to place requests for materials through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) using the library's databases or the ILL Request Form.

ILL articles and book chapters will be delivered via email.  Requests for books will be placed on a case-by-case basis based on availability.

Renewing Materials

Continue to renew materials online via My Account.  Due dates for SAU library materials have been extended through May for students and through July for faculty & staff.  Many MeLCat and Interlibrary Loan items retain their original due dates but may be kept until the Stay Home Stay Safe order ends.

Returning Materials

Updated 4/24/20  Please keep all library material until the Michigan Stay Home, Stay Safe order has been lifted.  No fines or other penalties will be incurred.  After quarantine, library items may be returned to the book drop located outside the library's entrance, or the library will be happy to send a prepaid return shipping label to anyone wanting to return books by mail.
