More About Interlibrary Loan:
Interlibrary Loan services are available for all current SAU students, staff, and faculty. Sorry, ILL services are not available for alumni or community patrons.
Textbooks are very difficult to obtain through Interlibrary Loan, and we usually cannot keep another library's book for an entire semester. You are better off using the bookstore or an online textbook rental company.
Copies of articles and book chapters take 2-10 business days to arrive. Books usually arrive in 5-10 business days. Harder-to-find items may take up to 3-4 weeks to arrive. To inquire on the status of your request, contact the ILL Dept.
Articles: Copies of articles will be delivered by email.
Books: Students, staff and faculty on the main campus will be notified by email when their ILL books are available for pick-up. Books are mailed directly to online students and those attending or teaching class at satellite locations.
The normal loan period for ILL material is 3 weeks for books, 1 week for CDs and DVDs. However, loan periods are determined by the lending library and vary by institution.
ILL items can be renewed online. Most ILL items renew for 1-3 weeks, however not all ILL items are renewable. If you need an additional extension on your ILL item, please contact Kami Moyer.
Tip: If you've reached the renewal limit and can no longer extend the due date, please submit another Interlibrary Loan request and we will try to obtain another copy of the book for you.
Minimum $65.00 replacement charge, including a $5-$10 non-refundable overdue fee, for items that are lost or more than 30 days overdue. See a complete library policy here.
