The Spring Arbor University White Library welcomes the donation of gift books to our collection only if the donation is in support of the teaching and research needs of the university. We are interested mostly in academic titles that are scholarly, current, or rare items in good physical condition.
Donated books become the property of the White Library. The White Library retains the right to dispose of or retain any gift books in the manner deemed necessary and in the best interests of the institution.
In accordance with Federal Law, the University Library cannot appraise gifts because it is an interested recipient. The IRS requires an independent appraisal if a donor plans to claim a charitable deduction. Upon request, the University Library will provide the donor with the number of books donated, not a specific list of titles.
If you believe your books will be a unique addition to the University Library, please contact Susan M. Panak, Acquisitions, at susan.panak@arbor.edu or (517) 750-6434 to arrange for the donation of your materials.
Prices are the same for you and the library receives a small percentage of the purchase price. If you are going to buy from Amazon.com anyway, why not shop through our storefront to benefit the library:
The library is always working to provide additional scholarly books and materials to our students and faculty, and to develop and create additional learning spaces. Give today with an online donation to the library. You can also make a recurring gift, or make a donation in honor of someone you know, at arbor.edu/give. In the Designation section, select "Other” and type Library in the other designation field. Thank you for your generosity!
