Find Books

The best way to find a book is to start at FIND Books/eBooks (or choose the FIND drop-down menu and then Books/eBooks).

You will be able to search for print books, ebooks, or both.  You can search by title, author, keyword, or subject.  Use the Advanced Search link if you would like to search using multiple search terms at the same time (title and author; keyword and date of publication; etc).

Print Books

Print book availability and shelving locations can be found beneath the book's summary when searching our online catalog.

• "General Collection" books are located on the top floor of the library.
• The call number, located on the spine or on the front of a book, is the “address” of the book on the shelf.
• Library books are placed in call number order on the shelf, starting with 000 and ending with 999.
• Criminal Justice and Criminology common call numbers:
  • 344 Labor, social service, education, and cultural law
  • 345 Criminal Law
  • 364 Criminology
  • 365 Penal and related institutions (prisons and incarceration)

E-Books

Look for the blue "View eBook" button to read SAU ebooks online.

Borrow from Michigan libraries using MeLCat:

Borrow books and more from libraries throughout Michigan.  Items can be picked up and returned at the SAU White Library!

• Start your search for books and more at the Michigan eLibrary Catalog.
• When you find an item you want to borrow, select the "Get this for me!" button.
• Select Spring Arbor University from the list of libraries.
• Enter your name and SIX DIGIT SAU ID #.  

Delivery time is about 5 days.  You will be notified by email when your requested item is ready for pick-up at the SAU White Library.
