Borrowing from SAU White Library: Community Patron Services

Community Patrons

Individuals not affiliated with SAU are welcome to use the White Library!

MeLCat Visiting Patron Service

Spring Arbor University participates in the Michigan eLibrary Visiting Patron program.  If your home library also participates and your library account is in good standing, you can bring your home library card to SAU to check out material for free from the White Library.  Check the list of libraries to find out if your home library participates in the Visiting Patron program.

MeLCat Visiting Patron check-out is available Monday - Thursday 10am - 6pm and Friday 10am - 4pm (holiday and summer hours may vary).

If your home library does not participate in the MeLCat Visiting Patron program, please contact Kami Moyer, Coordinator of User Services, to inquire about a White Library Community Patron borrowing card.  The yearly fee for a Community Patron card is $45.00.

Computer Use & Printing

Two Chromeboxes are available for public use.  These computers are located next to the elevator on the main floor.

Printing is not available on these computers.  However, users may send print requests via email to the library Circulation Desk.  $0.10 for black and white printing; $.50 per page, per side for color printing.  See more info on printing, scanning, and faxing in the library.

Study rooms and conference rooms

Library study rooms and conference rooms are available for quiet or group study.  A valid photo ID is required to use library rooms.  Your ID is kept at the Circulation Desk as collateral until room keys are returned.  Rooms may be unavailable to community users during busy times, such as finals week.  For large groups or corporate events, please contact SAU's Conference Services for reservations.
